Betty Page: Pin Up Queen

Vuxenfilm från 1998 av Irving Klaw med Betty Page. BETTY PAGE was the top pin up queen of the 50’s and has become the cult model of the 90’s. Betty was known for her distinctive hair-cut and figure when she became the most photographed pin up of all time. “Pin Up Queen” contains some marvelous sequences from a couple of old color burlesque films, but the bulk of the program is taken up by silent black-and-white footage of Page dancing about in lingerie. The clips from the 35mm burlesque films Striporama, Varietease and Teaserama show Page bopping around in lingerie and tassels, gradually working her way down to a modest bikini.
The sense of what the complete films are like can be garnered from trailers for two of the movies, which have also been included, and they essentially have the same program mix that a normal burlesque house would have had a decade or so earlier. The first black-and-white section contains excerpts from two documentaries that showcased the 16mm bondage films of a Fifties mail order pornographer, Irving Klaw. Voiceover narration from the documentaries provides an interesting biography of Page and details about the nature of the clips being viewed.
